Frequently Asked Questions
What is the average cost to produce a Judgement House presentation?
Your church or organization can produce a quality presentation for $3,000 - $3,500, less if you have items donated. Some churches and organizations spend as much as $15,000. At our required training conferences, we will show you ways to cut costs, and even generate income through your presentation.
We are a small church or organization. Can we still produce a quality Judgement House presentation?
There are three ways. First, you can partner with other churches or organizations in your area and therefore share the cost of the production. Second, we can send a mission team to assist you by supplementing your cast and crew. This solution is easier in the summer because most mission teams consist of teens who are in school during the fall and winter and schedules are more flexible in the summer months when these teens are on summer break. Third, we can send a team from our mobile ministry who will provide props and sets as well as supplemental cast and crew in order to support your presentation. We will however, use your students and adults to fill as many roles as possible.
How much preparation time is involved?
You will need a minimum of 10 – 12 weeks to get ready for your first presentation. However, planning should begin 6 months out as you begin praying for leaders that will fill the significant roles required. Assembling the leadership team is half the battle.
How many rooms are required for the presentaton?
You will need 8 – 9 rooms (depending on the script) for the actual drama, one large room (like a Fellowship Hall or Gym) for registration, a room for the invitation to be shared, and another for one-on-one time where “encouragers” will sit down and speak individually with those who have made important decisions about their spiritual lives.
How many people are required to produce a Judgement House presentation?
A minimum of 50 – 75 people are required to produce a Judgement House presentation. Some scripts will require more than this but we encourage you to invite other churches and organizations to join with you in filling the roles required to produce a quality presentation.
Is attending a training conference required?
Yes, we require that all of our covenant partners be trained by by one of our Certified Trainers prior to producing a Judgement House presentation for the first time. In addition to teaching you how to put the presentation together and present it effectively, we also discuss important safety and legal issues as well as ways to cut costs and generate income through your presentation. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to see a Judgement House presentation "in action" from both a backstage perspective as well as from the perspective of an attendee if you attend a training conference with a live performance. Other training conferences will utilize scene-by-scene video of an actual presentation. The training process ensures that all of our covenant partners produce their Judgement House presentations with the same level of quality, safety and excellence. Covenant partners are encouraged to attend training every year to receive the latest ideas, updates and information, however, experienced covenant partners may find it more convenient to attend a training conference every other year .
We can’t make it to a conference but we really want to produce a Judgement House presentation. What can we do?
Judgement House has Certified Trainers around the country that can come to you at your convenience and train your team on-site. However you will not have the benefit of seeing an actual presentation. As a substitute, a video will be shown so that your team will understand the overall presentation process. This is not the ideal circumstance for training but you can be assured that the quality of the training and the trainer are equal to our scheduled training conferences. In exchange for this valuable service, you will be required to reimburse our Certified Trainer for all travel, meal, and accommodation expenses as well as take up a love offering for the trainer(s) time.
Do you have Judgement House presentation scripts available in languages other than English?
Yes, some of our scripts are currently available in Portuguese, Spanish, and Ukrainian. We even have scripts for deaf audiences.
Is a Judgement House presentation just for Halloween?
No. While originally designed as a Christian alternative to Halloween, we have found that a Judgement House presentation works equally well any time of the year. Generally, there is a Judgement House presentation produced every month of the year by one of our covenant partners in the United States or abroad.
Do you have to be a certain denomination to become a covenant partner?
No, we are a non-denominational ministry. Any evangelical church or organization with a heart for evangelism, who agrees to abide by the terms laid out by the covenant partner agreement, is welcome to produce a Judgement House presentation.
Is a Judgement House presentation just a youth event?
No! All of our scripts include varying numbers of adult cast members. Adults will also be a part of the crew and the guests attending your presentation will be a wide variety of ages from 10 year olds to senior adults!
How is Judgement House different from Hell House?
Judgement House and Hell House are only similar in that they are both walk-through dramatic presentations in which a guide helps audience members follow the story or scene being shared. This is the only thing they have in common. The message of a Judgement House presentation is that a person must make a choice about what to do with God's offer of a saving and personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ before their death. The Bible teaches that there are only two choices. One is to accept this gift of salvation and the other is to reject it. Not choosing is the same as rejection and each of those choices has consequences after death. Judgement House shows participants the consequence of choosing to accept the gift of salvation by giving audience members a small glimpse of what awaits them in Heaven as well as experiencing a small part of the eternal separation from God in Hell that is the consequence of rejecting that same gift.
Judgement House does not deal with socially controversial issues and instead chooses to focus the entire presentation and in fact every scene, even Hell, on presenting people with the opportunity to choose a saving and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Hell House on the other hand, deals very graphically with highly controversial social issues such as abortion, homosexually, date rape and suicide. The guides for a Hell House presentation are demons who want to convince the audience that there is a penalty for these sinful social behaviors. Hell House is extremely graphic and very controversial, not only to most churches but to the general public as well. Hell House is headed by Keenan Roberts, Pastor of Destiny Church of the Assemblies of God, in Broomfield, CO. (Information about Hell House comes from their website as well as their readily available literature.)
What is the difference between a Judgement House presentation and Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames©?
Heaven's Gates & Hell's Flames© is an on-stage production. A cast of approximately 40 people (volunteers from a local church), act out a series of vignettes about people who live life, make their choices, die and find themselves outside heaven asking the question, "Angel, is my name in your book? "(Rev.20:15) If their name is found in the "Book of Life", a choir of angels sing and the person is welcomed into heaven by a smiling Jesus. However, when the answer is "no"...hell becomes their eternal destiny. This drama is usually presented in a church sanctuary. HGHF is owned by Reality Outreach Ministries, Inc. and local churches pay a fee for a Team Director from Outreach Ministries, Inc. to come and coach and train the cast-members, conduct the practices, set up the sound and lighting, and assign costumes. The Director is also an evangelist who gives an invitation at the conclusion of the presentation. (This information comes from the HGHF website.)
Judgement House is a walk-through dramatic presentation that takes place in a series of up to 9 rooms in various settings from stadiums to schoolhouses. Once you become a covenant partner you are licensed to use the script of your choice for one year and may present it as many times in that year as you choose. Your church or organization is responsible for the purchase or renting of your own props, lighting, and sound equipment. This equipment along with the script of your choice can be used year after year to produce Judgement House presentations (if you remain a covenant partner) or for any other purpose you choose.
